As the Residential Services Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the overall assisted living experince for our Residents. About Your New Role:
The Director of Resident Services will be a part of the senior leadership team within the community with responsibilities that include leads and manages the Independent and Assisted Living buildings in accordance with customer needs and wants, government regulations and FSCSC mission and policy while achieving business and financial objectives. This position also is responsible for inspections and surveys, resident assessment and chairs/participates in various committees within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the day-to-day administration and operations of Independent and Assisted Living services and programs. Plans, develops and implements the expansion or improvement in program services. Ensures compliance with all local, State and Federal laws and regulations as well as community policies and procedures.
Works with department management in areas such as Activities, Housekeeping, and Dining Services in the selection, training and evaluation of staff.
Provides feedback and direction to staff to promote quality services.
Promotes team building and staff participation in day-to-day operations.
Encourages sharing of information between Wellness staff, Activities, Dining Services, etc.
Collaborate with Wellness team to assure resident care needs are met.
Promotes innovative recreational and social programs designed to enhance resident’s lives.
Participates in the preparation of the budget. Monitors staffing, equipment, and program expenses and ensures efficient fiscal management of services.
Works with admissions and marketing staff to promote a positive image of the community to ensure a smooth transition for new residents.
Solicits resident feedback, involves residents in problem solving/general ideas for new services or features, and when possible, implements resident suggestions.
Compliance Officer and HIPPA Officer for the campus.
Approves and discharges residents from AL/IL following prescribed assessment process.
Member of the Administrative Staff with on-call responsibilities; participates in Administrator on Call rotation.
Other duties as assigned or as responsibilities dictate.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
Preferred
Education
(including vocational school, Jr. College, etc.)
At least 21 years old and has a college degree in management or Senior Services related field.
Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Senior Services related field.
Applicable Experience
3 years’ experience in human relations management.
5 years management experience with the senior population.
Professional Membership,
Licensures, Certifications
LPN or RN, Retirement Housing Professional Certification or ALFA’s Assisted Living Administrator’s Certification.
Active RN License Strongly preferred, Retirement Housing Professional Certification or ALFA’s Assisted Living Administrator’s Certification.

Summary of your new role:
Assist in managing the daily operations within parameters of established policies and procedures and in keeping with the philosophy and mission of the organization. Supervises and directs the work activity of associates. Position will be responsible for the overall wellness aspects of the assisted living residents of Astral At Auburn. Position will focus on assessments, development of resident service plans, and triage of medical emergencies. Position is a vital link in the medical/clinical aspect of all community residents and the communication of information relating to residents throughout the continuum to assure best practices and outcomes for all concerned.
Specific Task:
- Assess resident changes in condition and providing necessary medical/clinical follow-up. May include obtaining vital signs, coordinating lab draws, conducting dressing changes, and follow up with residents' physicians and obtaining medication orders as needed
- Facilitate coordination and monitoring of Home Health & Hospice services administered to the Assisted Living
- Assists with the coordination of resident clinic visits on-site, as well as assisting with appointments with external physicians and other health care providers when
- Assist in supervision of associates, ensuring adequate staffing and assures responsible care in service delivery, available to always answer calls from associates and flexible to work a unit when staffing needs deem necessary.
- Performs initial and on-going Resident Assessments and assists with development of Resident Service plan
- Provide oversight and assist in day to day operations, and with the coordination of the medication supervision service
- Rotation placement in an on-call schedule to facilitate staffing in assisted living and to address Issues/concerns from assisted living associates.
Position Requirments:
- Licensed practical nurse (LPN) licensed to practice as required by state regulations
- Minimum of 3 years of assisted living experince.

Experience in direct patient care and assessments/observation of clinical conditions
- Experience in recruiting, training and managing people in the healthcare field
- Experience at a department head level in Assisted Living
- CPR certified and knowledge of basic first aid
- Experience coordinating educational events
